Your adviser is a director or employee of Velaris Private Wealth. They act on behalf of Velaris Private Wealth and under the AFSL held by Velaris Private Wealth.
Velaris Private Wealth is authorised to provide general advice, personal advice and dealing services in the following areas:
Each investment or service that is recommended undergoes extensive research. Velaris Private Wealth undertakes extensive in-house quantitative product analysis and purchases qualitative investment research from a number of independent research houses. Only investments and services that qualify for inclusion on our preferred product lists may be recommended.
Prior to providing you with any advice, your adviser will review your situation and design a financial strategy that best meets your circumstances and future objectives.
Velaris Private Wealth will provide two distinct types of advice to you in the course of preparing your financial recommendation.
Personal strategic advice is advice we will give to you to explain how best to structure your affairs from investment, taxation, estate, income and expenditure planning perspectives.
Personal financial product advice is advice that we will give to you when recommending specific types of financial products and services relevant to your circumstances that will assist in achieving your future objectives.
After the strategic advice has been made, in order for you to achieve your stated goals and objectives, we will select the investment and insurance products that have the relevant features to achieve your specific goals. We will recommend a product to you only after considering its suitability for your individual objectives, financial situation and needs.
To ensure that you have the peace of mind of knowing that your finances are appropriately structured, we strongly recommend that you take advantage of our review service.
This service provides you with a review of your portfolio and the associated strategies implemented, as well as regular reports on its performance. A fee is charged for this service which will be agreed between you and your adviser prior to implementation and on an annual engagement basis thereafter. The fee and inclusions of this review service will depend on the elements you wish to adopt.
Velaris Private Wealth and your adviser will act in your best interests when providing advice.
All fees are payable to Velaris Private Wealth.
Your adviser is paid a salary. They may also be paid a performance bonus (based on the fees they generate for Velaris Private Wealth) or share in the profits of the business (as a part owner of Velaris Private Wealth). Your Financial Adviser does not automatically qualify for a bonus, they must first satisfy certain compliance, client satisfaction and peer review/performance benchmarks. Any potential bonus is not directly related to the advice you are provided.
Velaris Private Wealth charges fees for all services provided to you.
It is Velaris Private Wealth's policy and preference not to receive any commissions from the companies whose products we recommend. We achieve this by requesting that the product provider rebate all commissions back to you in the form of reduced fees or premiums.
However, some insurance providers will not allow a rebate on their products. In the instance that commissions cannot be avoided, Velaris Private Wealth will either offset the commission against your fee or
(in the case of small amounts) donate the commission to charity. We do not retain any commissions.
Any fee charged for services provided to you is based on an agreed service cost.
A Velaris Private Wealth adviser will discuss the fees that will apply to your specific situation before commencing work on your behalf.
Planning including an SoA - Charges are dependent on the complexity of your individual circumstances and the time involved.
The comprehensive planning process is usually broken into three stages and you will be invoiced at the end of each stage for the work completed to date. This allows you to receive measurable value throughout the process.
Implementation – Before implementation of the agreed strategies, you will be quoted a fee based on the agreed implementation projects.
Review – For the provision of asset management, financial planning advice, review of your portfolio and upgrading your plan, we charge a fee based on the following factors:
Once we have completed the initial planning process, we will provide you with a personalised quote of the annual fee. You can elect to have this fee deducted from your investments, direct debited from your bank account or a combination.
Additional fees may be charged for complex situations or any project work we complete on your behalf, but you will be notified of any costs before the work begins.
No, Velaris Private Wealth does not receive any other benefits, incentives or gifts.
